Parenting Resources
How Children develop:
All children develop slightly differently. Try not to compare your child to every child. However, there are some indicators to look for that can help support you in how to promote development and also suggest if some services in the community could be valuable. Developmental stages of children can be supported at home with activities and play and also through services to allow the best chance at health. Here are some links to further understand development or access that support.

Triple P – Positive Parenting Program
Triple P is a parenting program, but it doesn’t tell you how to be a parent. It’s more like a toolbox of ideas. You choose the strategies you need. You choose the way you want to use them. It’s all about making Triple P work for you.
Strong Families:
Strong families start with the parent(s). Are you taking care of you? From there, the children will have an ability to thrive. It is important to note that families are often strongest when they parent with a network. What does that mean? It means not being alone! Extended family, friends and even community resources are vital in the health and wellbeing of families and children. Lanark, Leeds and Grenville has many resources out there to support you as an adult, your children and your family.
