Uncategorised > Black History Month

February is a month dedicated to celebrating and acknowledging Black History Month.  Here at LLG, the Equity, Diversity and Inclusivity working group (EDI) wanted to start some conversations and thought in terms of why we are acknowledging and honouring Black History Month.  “Every February, Canadians are invited to participate in Black History Month festivities and events that honour the legacy of Black Canadians, past and present.  The 2020 theme for Black History Month is: “Canadians of African Descent: Going forward, guided by the past.” This was inspired by the theme of the United Nations’ International Decade for People of African Descent (2015-2024).”  Let’s start with some reflection: Here is a one minute video from the Canadian government. https://youtu.be/np_jD0YUQrw
