Uncategorised > This week is Child and Youth Worker Week

We recognize the incredible importance and value of all CYW’s here at FCSLLG, including CPSW’s, transition workers, independence workers and all the titles we have used through the years to describe the role of advocate, nurturer and all around essential support.

WHO IS A CHILD AND YOUTH WORKER?

An individual (staff or volunteer) who works with or on behalf of children and/or youth to facilitate their personal, social, and educational development and enable them to gain a voice, influence, and place in society… (Definition from the National Collaboration for Youth).

As we start CYC Week, (May 2- 6th)  please note that FCSLLG wants to acknowledge all you do in this field for children and youth in the community and in our care. From advocacy to prevent homelessness, to mental health support, to supporting safe and strong connections with family, to making them feel not alone. Your impact is lifelong.  Thank You.

The day of celebration within the week is Wednesday the 4th. Let’s take a moment to recognize each other!
